Car accidents and associated neck pain

DO NOT WAIT!

I recently saw someone come to the office after being in a car accident in February of 2012.  I met her at a health fair and she said that she was experiencing neck pain and migraines. She was unsure of the cause, but after taking an extensive history we realized that the pain began approximately 1 month after the accident.  I ordered films of her cervical spine, and there was a fracture of the odontoid process!!!!  ( a bone in the upper cervical spine).  Now, luckily for her the fracture was stable, but you can only imagine the possibilities had it been unstable.  Not to mention, had she fallen again, or got in another accident, there could have been serious problems.

We just finished treatment after 6 months.  She was in the office 2-3x week for months.  She devoted time both physically, emotionally and financially to her recovery. And I am happy to say that she is doing extremely well now and we have closed the case!

But a couple lessons here.....

1.  I don't care if you have been in a car accident going 5 mph, there will be damage to your body.  It is a fact that your muscles can tear, bleed and form scar tissue in minor traumas.  The sooner treatment is implemented, the faster your recovery will be.  And more importantly, you will not suffer from chronic pain, or possibly nerve damage.

2. The sooner treatment is implemented you minimize:   PAIN, permanent damage to the body, time spent in your chiropractor's office, and financial burdens.

3. Health is all you have, so you have to respect and listen to your body.  If something feels wrong, most likely it is.

I am very adamant on treating these cases, and getting the results everyone is looking for.  If you or anyone you know has been in an a car accident, please get checked out.  I am offering a FREE consultation for anyone who has been in an accident.  We can discuss the case and see if we can help you.

Something to keep in mind, if you have car insurance, you most likely have something called MEDpay which is responsible to pay your medical expenses.  The reason......they know the damage that can occur in these car accidents.  So use it!  Typically, we can use the medpay even for accidents that occurred in the past several months.

Take responsibility for your health today.
